YAZ Consultancy is proud to introduce a comprehensive two-day workshop designed to assist professionals in Oman’s mining sector in navigating the recently introduced Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (OHSE) Guidelines for Mineral Exploration. This workshop provides a deep dive into the critical regulatory frameworks, emphasizing the legal and operational standards that must be met by companies involved in mineral exploration.

The training will cover essential aspects of operational safety, environmental management, and community health prioritization. Participants will learn how to effectively use Environmental, Social, and Health Impact Assessment Reports to mitigate hazards and align their operations with global standards like the Basel Convention and Kyoto Protocol. The workshop provides hands-on insights into creating comprehensive OHSE management plans that integrate occupational health surveillance, waste management, and the effective use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

In addition to operational and environmental guidelines, the workshop will highlight the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the mining sector. Participants will explore how to plan projects with a macroscopic view that prioritizes the health and well-being of local communities, ensuring that social management systems are implemented with genuine intent. This session will also discuss the long-term socio-economic impacts of mining projects and how effective CSR strategies can foster community development and maintain place identity.

This workshop is ideal for Health and Safety Managers, Environmental Officers, Operations Managers, Mining Engineers, and others responsible for the safety, compliance, and community relations of mining operations. By attending, participants will not only ensure their operations meet the latest MEM guidelines but will also move towards a culture of continuous improvement, aligning industry best practices with public and environmental health goals. Through critical review and informed decision-making, attendees will be better equipped to manage the complex challenges posed by mineral exploration in Oman.
